Kevin Major was born in Stephenville, Newfoundland, in 1949. After graduation from Memorial University he taught school for a number of years. He is the author of fifteen books, many of them award-winning. His work has been translated into several languages. Major has adapted four of his books for the stage: Hold Fast, Far From Shore, No Man’s Land, and As Near to Heaven by Sea. He lives in St. John’s with his wife and family.
