Downloading E-books Using iTunes
Apple offers an excerpt or an entire chapter of books, allowing you to preview before you purchase.
On your desktop
1. If you do not already have the latest version of iTunes, click here to download it from the Apple site. Please note that iTunes
versions older than 10.3.1 will not have the book search function built in.
2. You must register an account with iTunes to
purchase items. If you already have an account for purchasing music or
movies, you can buy books in the same manner.
3. Once in iTunes, click on the iTunes Store
icon. This will direct you to the main store page.
4. At the top of the application, there are a series of icons
-
Music, Movies, Apps, etc. Here you will see a tab for Books. Clicking on
this tab will bring you to the iBookstore page.
5. From the iBookstore page, you can browse by subject or
genre. You can also search by title, author or
publisher. If you wish to see which Flanker Press titles are currently
available, type Flanker Press into the search field. If a variety of results
come up, click the Books icon on the left of the display. This will filter your search to just books. From here you
can
view all available Flanker titles and purchase them.
On your Apple device (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch)
1. To purchase items from the iTunes iBookstore,
you must have the iBooks application installed on your device. This is a
free app that can be downloaded from the iTunes store. A search for iBooks
will bring it up right away.
2. Once installed, open the iBooks application.
You will see a graphic of a bookshelf; this is where titles that you have
purchased will appear. In the upper right hand corner is a Store icon. Clicking
the Store icon will bring you to the iBookstore.
3. From the iBookstore page, you can browse by subject or
genre. You can also search by title, author or
publisher. If you wish to see which Flanker Press titles are currently
available, type Flanker Press into the search field. From here you can
view all available Flanker titles and purchase them.
