Q & A with Sister
Corona Wyse
1.
When do you like to write (time of day, day of week)? Where do you do your
writing (location)?
I like
to write any time of day but preferably in the morning, when I’m fresh.
2.
What was your first piece in print (book, review, or article, etc)?
A
column in the Gander Beacon a few years ago entitled “Wyse
Reflections.”
3.
What other jobs have you had besides being a writer?
Writing, in print, while always a cherished desire, came late. I’ve been an
elementary and high school teacher and principal, and coordinator of
religious education at the School Board level. In the Graduate School of
Education, Catholic University of America, Washington, DC, I was assistant
professor.
4.
Who is your favourite author(s)?
G. K.
Chesterton, C. P. Snow, Graham Greene, James Joyce, Henri Nouwen, Wayne
Dyer, Deepak Chopra. In a lighter vein, I enjoy Belva Plain, Mary Higgins
Clark, and Maeve Binchy.
5.
What are you reading now?
Dr.
Jean Dohaney’s recent Flanker Press publication, The Flannigans.
Great book!
6.
What is your favourite food?
Fish.
Love it at any time and enjoy the many nice ways of preparing it.
7.
What kind of music do you listen to?
Classical and semi-Classical, as well as choirs.
8.
What do you like to do in your free time?
Visit
friends as well as the sick. Read.
9.
What city/country would you most like to visit and why?
Austria and Switzerland because I was so enchanted with my first visit that
I hold delightful memories.
10.
Make a question of your own and then answer it.
How
has life been for you?
A
special gift. Despite the ordinary little ups and downs, I’ve never known
what it is to be bored. Interesting work, enjoyable vacations, good friend,
and great family memories have been inestimable blessings. |
